Uganda observer reported that the incident happened in Garsale, approximately 10km from the town of Jowhar and some 80km from Mogadishu. <\/p>\n
The statement further says the al-Shabab fighters \u201cdisengaged in the early hours of Saturday morning\u201d following in-fighting in which eight militants were killed.<\/p>\n
\u201cBy the afternoon, over 200 militants had disengaged and were under Amisom control. The total number is expected to rise to around 250,\u201d the statement says.<\/p>\n
The deadly infighting, in which two senior al-Shabab commanders were involved, is reported to have pitted rival groups against each other. <\/p>\n
Amisom says its forces recovered at least 80 weapons. Amisom\u2019s deputy force commander in charge of operations, Brig Michael Ondoga, said of the development:<\/p>\n
