{"id":32778,"date":"2017-02-23T14:49:44","date_gmt":"2017-02-23T14:49:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/senators-raise-alarm-over-university-students\/"},"modified":"2017-02-25T15:08:35","modified_gmt":"2017-02-25T15:08:35","slug":"senators-raise-alarm-over-university-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/senators-raise-alarm-over-university-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Senators raise alarm over university students\u2019 poor living conditions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{Senators have expressed concern over lack of accommodation for University of Rwanda students describing it as a threat to the quality of education if nothing is done to address the issue.}<\/p>\n<p>The concern was raised yesterday as senators debated issues raised in the parliamentary commission for social welfare and human rights report that assessed government activities directed to higher learning institutions and universities. <\/p>\n<p>Lack of students\u2019 accommodation was among top worrying challenges raised in the report. <\/p>\n<p>Senator Musabeyezu Naricisse raised an issue of students who live in ghettos. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s be sincere.  Students can\u2019t attain quality education when they are living in squalid conditions.
