{"id":32563,"date":"2017-02-15T01:20:29","date_gmt":"2017-02-15T01:20:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/france-should-facilitate-investigations-as-we-did\/"},"modified":"2017-02-18T07:10:59","modified_gmt":"2017-02-18T07:10:59","slug":"france-should-facilitate-investigations-as-we-did","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/france-should-facilitate-investigations-as-we-did\/","title":{"rendered":"France should facilitate investigations as we did -Prosecutor General"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{The Government of Rwanda\u2019s prosecution has intensified efforts of calling upon  France for collaboration in the investigation of 20 France nationals suspected of complicity in the 1994 genocide against Tutsi. } <\/p>\n<p>The call was geared up from 29th November 2016 few days after the National Commission for the Fight Against Genocide (CNLG) released a list of 22 French soldiers accused of involvement in 1994 genocide against Tutsi.<\/p>\n<p>Rwanda\u2019s prosecution has said that talks will continue between both countries adding that \u2018Rwanda can\u2019t pressure France for reaction because the latter has own laws.\u2019 <\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor General, Jean Bosco Mutangana has told IGIHE that Rwanda wants France collaboration and respect of the international principle obliging countries to facilitate investigations following an example where  France prosecutors were allowed to run investigations when they came to Rwanda. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrance prosecutors came to check files of Rwandans suspected of genocide, we received and helped them .They got the  desired results  and we also sent witnesses in France,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe principle of facilitating each other obliges them to do the same. There is a way of holding trial in their country if they keep quiet.
