{"id":32210,"date":"2017-01-31T01:10:13","date_gmt":"2017-01-31T01:10:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rwamagana-loses-rwf-43-million-mayor-apologizes\/"},"modified":"2017-02-02T00:55:42","modified_gmt":"2017-02-02T00:55:42","slug":"rwamagana-loses-rwf-43-million-mayor-apologizes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rwamagana-loses-rwf-43-million-mayor-apologizes\/","title":{"rendered":"Rwamagana loses  Rwf 43 million, mayor apologizes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{The mayor of Rwamagana district, Mbonyumuvunyi Radjab has apologized before parliament  over mismanagement of the district affairs that led to financial losses to the government of Rwanda amounting to  over Rwf 43 million. } <\/p>\n<p>The financial loss rose from losing  court cases where the district had been dragged for wrongful dismissal of district employees. <\/p>\n<p>The mismanagement issues were raised in the  Public Service Commission reports for  2009-2012 and 20120-2015 which compelled  the parliamentary commission of social welfare to summon the mayor for explanations. <\/p>\n<p>Mbonyumuvunyi accepted the mistakes and apologized saying they have now embraced advanced proactive measures.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThanks for your best advices .We promise to respect them and you won\u2019t see more shortfalls in future reports,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>He explained that the district has now hired a lawyer and will be consulting the Public Service Commission before taking any personnel decisions. <\/p>\n<p>The vice chairman t of parliamentary commission on social welfare, Alphonsine Mukarugema requested mayor Mbonyumuvunyi to avoid any mistake leading them to be summoned for similar mistake. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSuch malpractices have to stop .You have to know that an employee dismissed through legal procedures has to leave.
