{"id":32136,"date":"2017-01-27T08:40:00","date_gmt":"2017-01-27T08:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/nyagatare-has-129-ghost-teachers\/"},"modified":"2017-01-30T07:28:32","modified_gmt":"2017-01-30T07:28:32","slug":"nyagatare-has-129-ghost-teachers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/nyagatare-has-129-ghost-teachers\/","title":{"rendered":"Nyagatare has 129 ghost teachers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{The 2015-2016 Public Service Commission Report presented to parliament yesterday indicated cases of inconsistencies in paid ghost teachers and ghost degrees. } <\/p>\n<p>The report revealed that Nyagatare district employed 1590 teachers but 1719 teachers receive the salary creating a difference of 129 ghost teachers non-existing personnel. <\/p>\n<p>The report also indicated that some teachers holding secondary school certificate are paid mismatching remunerations of the same category as university graduates <\/p>\n<p>Following the reports, MP Rwaka Pierre Claver said gaffe implies poor cooperation between Rwanda Education Board (REB) , district education departments and schools. <\/p>\n<p>The director of REB, Gasana Janvier said that people involved in such malpractices will be pursued soon.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cCorruption is apparent in this case. Some teachers received what they don\u2019t deserve while others didn\u2019t receive what they deserve. There are levels in which we seek investigation assistance to solve theseproblems identified\u201d he said.  <\/p>\n<p>He explained that they are going to start registration of professional teachers to solve the matter of ghost teachers. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a particular statute regulating teachers.
