{"id":31852,"date":"2017-01-16T05:33:41","date_gmt":"2017-01-16T05:33:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/52-000-secondary-school-leavers-start-civic\/"},"modified":"2017-01-17T05:42:35","modified_gmt":"2017-01-17T05:42:35","slug":"52-000-secondary-school-leavers-start-civic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/52-000-secondary-school-leavers-start-civic\/","title":{"rendered":"52,000 secondary school leavers start civic education"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{The National Itorero Commission has said that at least 52,000 high school leavers are participating in a civic education program through which they will be acquainted with Rwanda\u2019s national and cultural values.} <\/p>\n<p>The civic education dubbed \u2018Inkomezabigwi\u2019 kicked off on 15th January 2017 to be closed on 21st January 2017. <\/p>\n<p>The Chairman of the National Itorero Commission, Rucagu Boniface has told IGIHE the number of participants fell below the expectations. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cA total of 52,000 secondary school leavers have reached training sites but we expected more. It was expected that they would be trained at 140 sites which are likely to be reduced because we expected 68, 000,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>Rucagu explained that high school leavers will be trained on Rwanda\u2019s national and cultural values to serve as their foundation for contributing to building the nation. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBuilding Rwanda will start from establishing Rwanda spirit (ubunyarwanda), and understand its value more than others&#8230;Rwanda spirit enables them to build unity of Rwandans, peace, encouraging  people to build strong families and the country as well,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>Throughout the civic trainings, trainees will be tutored by village leaders, cell and sector executive secretaries on development activities in which they can participate.<br \/>\nThe civic education will be followed by communal works starting from 30th January 2017.  <\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-17638 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/rucagu-8-c3f82.jpg\" alt=\"The Chairman of the National Itorero Commission, Rucagu Boniface\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>{The National Itorero Commission has said that at least 52,000 high school leavers are participating in a civic education program through which they will be acquainted with Rwanda\u2019s national and cultural values.} The civic education dubbed \u2018Inkomezabigwi\u2019 kicked off on 15th January 2017 to be closed on 21st January 2017.
