{Police in Ruhango District has asked transporters operating in the district to shun and fight all forms of criminality by reporting individuals that would want to use their means of transport to carry out their illegal activities.}<\/p>\n
The District Police Commander of Ruhango, Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Jean Bosco Ndayisaba, while meeting a cross-section representative of transport companies noted that in the recent past, transporters have been caught while abetting crimes such as transporting illegal drugs and smuggled goods.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is your duty as well to fight crime\u2026to protect communities and the youth from psychotropic substances that surmount to other crimes, and protect businesses from illegal ones that are also likely to bring into the market substandard or hazardous products,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBy doing so, you are preserving and promoting safety and security, protecting the economy and contributing to development,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
The DPC further noted that security also includes \u201cresponsible use of roads\u201d and respecting traffic rules and regulations.<\/p>\n
He outlined driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, bad maneuvers as some of the reckless habits of drivers that result into fatal accidents, and which they should do away with.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
