{"id":31552,"date":"2017-01-03T11:22:33","date_gmt":"2017-01-03T11:22:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/caretakers-at-butaro-hospital-lament-awkward\/"},"modified":"2017-01-09T01:54:59","modified_gmt":"2017-01-09T01:54:59","slug":"caretakers-at-butaro-hospital-lament-awkward","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/caretakers-at-butaro-hospital-lament-awkward\/","title":{"rendered":"Caretakers at Butaro Hospital lament awkward visiting hours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{Burera residents have raised concern for being frustrated by Butaro Hospital managers that keep them waiting for hours when they visit relatives admitted at the facility.  } <\/p>\n<p>Residents told IGIHE, they are requested to wait till noon even when they arrive way before that to visit patients transferred from health centers. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-17408 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/dsc_0486.jpg\" alt=\"A security guard check on loads of caretakers visiting Butaro Hospital before admission to visit patients.\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Iribagiza Clementine, a resident who IGIHE met waiting at the gate of Butaro Hospital on Thursday lamented the delaying acts of \u201cwaiting at the gates yet the pregnant women whom I have brought food have not eaten since yesterday.\u201d   <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI left home at around 4:30am, walked to this place where I reached at 10:30am, but been blocked from seeing the patients. The delay means I will return home late at night yet I have little kids to take care of including cooking for them,\u201d she said.   <\/p>\n<p> \u201cIt\u2019s better we are allowed to see patients as and when we arrive because we come from distant remote places,\u201d she pleaded. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-17413 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/dsc_0551.jpg\" alt=\"Narindwenimana Jean de Dieu after admission to visit his patient. \" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Narindwenimana Jean de Dieu from Rugengabari sector ,Nyanamo cell in Muramba village also expressed dissatisfaction  for waiting long hours outside the hospital. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI arrived around 9:30am. They restricted me from entering the hospital yet  I arrived earlier. The hospital should establish many visiting periods per day to facilitate visitors,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-17409 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/dsc_0487-2.jpg\" alt=\"Caretakers entering through Butaro Hospital gates. \" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Nduwayezu Jean Bosco, a motorcyclist who brought a visitor said they arrived at 8:00am but forced to wait for that long.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are too affected. I brought a passenger around 8.00 am but he has to wait till noon so we can return home,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-17410 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/dsc_0494-2.jpg\" alt=\"Visitors entering Butaro Hospital.\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>The Butaro Hospital clinical director, Habimana Francois Regis has explained that it can\u2019t be possible to allow people enter the hospital anytime they want. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe receive visitors thrice a day; 8:00 am, between 13:00 and 13:30 hours and at the evening from 17:00 till 21:00 hours. We don\u2019t allow them anytime because patients are not treated in private rooms.
