{"id":30104,"date":"2016-11-08T00:21:56","date_gmt":"2016-11-08T00:21:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rwanda-pledges-better-doing-business-environment\/"},"modified":"2016-11-09T09:00:38","modified_gmt":"2016-11-09T09:00:38","slug":"rwanda-pledges-better-doing-business-environment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rwanda-pledges-better-doing-business-environment\/","title":{"rendered":"Rwanda pledges better doing business environment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{The CEO of Rwanda Development Board (RDB), Francis Gatare has said that seeing Rwanda ranked 56th down from 62th is a commendable achievement though the country targets to keep on improving. }<\/p>\n<p>In a press conference following the recent World Bank ranking of countries easing trade, Gatare explained that the country has made reforms in registration of property, improving cross-border trade among others but lost marks in delivery of construction permit and electricity. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are the second in Africa in World Bank Doing Business ranking; but we want to become the first by next year and emerge the 10th globally,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister of Trade, Industry and East African Affairs, Fran\u00e7ois Kanimba who is in charge of the program \u2018Doing Business in Rwanda\u2019 has said that Rwanda is achieving a lot and will  keep progressing by putting much emphasis on areas pointed to be weak and maintaining the scale of strong areas at the same time. <\/p>\n<p>He said that Mauritius is the only country coming before Rwanda with only a few scores ahead. <\/p>\n<p>\u201c When you look at standards in construction  permit, we were ranked 37th before but are now in  158th position which will be corrected,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>On electricity, the minister said; \u201cThere are other measures in place to help investors  acquire electricity. We have enough information on power intermittence and the duration power cut lasts so that investors can adequately devise means of adapting.
