{"id":30029,"date":"2016-11-04T08:06:16","date_gmt":"2016-11-04T08:06:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rwanda-targets-exporting-80-as-washed-coffee-by\/"},"modified":"2017-02-28T19:05:38","modified_gmt":"2017-02-28T19:05:38","slug":"rwanda-targets-exporting-80-as-washed-coffee-by","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rwanda-targets-exporting-80-as-washed-coffee-by\/","title":{"rendered":"Rwanda targets exporting 80% as washed coffee by 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{Rwanda\u2019s National Agricultural Export Board (NAEB) has unveiled a plan to increase washed coffee exports from the current 50% to 80% of coffee harvest by 2018.}<\/p>\n<p>This was revealed yesterday during the closure of Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) Project dubbed \u201cSustainable Credit Guarantee Scheme to Promote Scaling up\/out of Enhanced Coffee Processing Practices in Ethiopia and Rwanda,\u201d which has been operating in Rwanda since 2011. <\/p>\n<p>Dr Celestin Gatarayiha, the Head of the coffee chain division at NAEB explained that the project was meant to support farmers\u2019 cooperatives to access bank loans. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe project offered 50% of loan guarantee to cooperatives of coffee farmers having coffee processing plants to access loans from Rwanda Development Bank and Banque Populaire du Rwanda.
