{"id":29901,"date":"2016-11-01T02:02:07","date_gmt":"2016-11-01T02:02:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/genocide-against-tutsi-was-a-grave-un-failure\/"},"modified":"2016-11-02T03:22:07","modified_gmt":"2016-11-02T03:22:07","slug":"genocide-against-tutsi-was-a-grave-un-failure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/genocide-against-tutsi-was-a-grave-un-failure\/","title":{"rendered":"Genocide against Tutsi was a grave UN failure &#8211; Kenneth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{The Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Jan Kenneth Eliasson has said that the 1994 genocide against Tutsi tells much about  UN failure at the time.  }<\/p>\n<p>Eliasson  noted this  as he visited Kigali Genocide Memorial during his  last visit to a foreign country before he completes his mission at the United Nations.<\/p>\n<p>After being taken through the history of genocide preparation and execution, and how UN envoys in Rwanda failed to stop it, Eliasson said; \u201cThis was a great failure of United Nations.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Jan Eliasson has told the media that it is time for international community to become counteractive on serious matters requiring special interventions.   <\/p>\n<p> \u201cI have traveled to many countries and witnessed consequences of genocide against Jews.
