{Police in Nyabihu District have arrested a 27-year old man identified as Valence Ntirenganya, who was found trafficking about 7000 pellets of cannabis.}<\/p>\n
Ntirenganya was arrested on October 22 at a police checkpoint in Rugeshi cell of Mukamira sector.<\/p>\n
Police spokesperson for the Western region, Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Th\u00e9obald Kanamugire, said the arrest of the suspect was based on a tip off from residents in Nyabihu, who were well versed with his illegal dealings.<\/p>\n
\u201cPolice received information that the suspect was traveling in a public bus and they immediately set up a checkpoint, where he was arrested after they stopped the bus and checked the illegal luggage, where the rolls of cannabis were concealed,\u201d said CIP Kanamugire<\/p>\n
The suspect is held at Mukamira Police station as investigations proceed.<\/p>\n
CIP Kanamugire lauded the public for the continued cooperation with Police, which he said has laid a firm ground against criminality and drug related crimes in particular.<\/p>\n
\u201cRwandans have indicated zero tolerance to crimes and Police commends such community policing efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n
