{"id":29239,"date":"2016-10-07T12:59:13","date_gmt":"2016-10-07T12:59:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/merging-minicom-mineac-is-a-wise-decision-kanimba\/"},"modified":"2017-02-28T18:30:56","modified_gmt":"2017-02-28T18:30:56","slug":"merging-minicom-mineac-is-a-wise-decision-kanimba","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/merging-minicom-mineac-is-a-wise-decision-kanimba\/","title":{"rendered":"Merging MINICOM-MINEAC is a wise decision- Kanimba"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{The Minister of Industry, Trade and East African Affairs, Fran\u00e7ois Kanimba has said that merging MINICOM with MINEAC is a good choice as  it will enhance increased productivity and avoid duplication of services and rendering resources to waste.  }<\/p>\n<p>The merger was announced during the cabinet reshuffle on 4th October 2016 where Minister Kanimba was appointed to lead the merged ministries while the former minister of MINEAC, Valentine Rugwabiza was appointed Rwanda\u2019s envoy to the United Nations in New York.<\/p>\n<p>Following the reshuffle, the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Emmanuel Hategeka was appointed the coordinator of Northern Corridor projects. <\/p>\n<p>During the handover ceremony held today, Minister Kanimba has thanked President Paul Kagame for the new duties and unveiled readiness to  improve  the value and quantity of Rwanda\u2019s products exported to East African member states. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMerging MINEAC and MINICOM is anchored on the fact that the East African Community is meant to establish one regional trading bloc and enhancing investment opportunities. These responsibilities are extended to, among others, security , education, but, most important,  establishing a common market,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>While handing over the MNEAC office, Ambassador Valentine Rugwabiza has  commended President Kagame for having assigned her to head MINEAC and expressed optimism that  the merger will bring more benefits. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe merger of the two ministries has a purpose.
