{"id":28960,"date":"2016-09-27T09:16:41","date_gmt":"2016-09-27T09:16:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/gicumbi-parents-urged-to-mind-children-s\/"},"modified":"2017-02-28T18:15:21","modified_gmt":"2017-02-28T18:15:21","slug":"gicumbi-parents-urged-to-mind-children-s","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/gicumbi-parents-urged-to-mind-children-s\/","title":{"rendered":"Gicumbi parents urged to mind children\u2019s reproductive health"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{The secretary-general and chief budget officer at the National Demobilisation and Reintegration Commission, Umulisa Hnriette has requested Gicumbi parents to make it their responsibility to educate their children on reproductive health. }<\/p>\n<p>She made the call last Friday as Rwanda marked the  international day of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)   held at Groupe Scolaire Gishambashayo in Rubaya sector of Gicumbi district, Northern Province under  the theme \u201cNi uburenganzira bwanyu kumenya ubuzima bw\u2019imyororokere\u201d (It is your right to know about reproductive health).<\/p>\n<p>Umulisa explained that parents and all stakeholders have to create deep awareness among the youth on reproductive health.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTeaching the youth on reproductive health especially a girl, will help her to know her body changes  so she can avoid  premature pregnancies and HIV\/AIDS. It is our responsibilities as parents to grow healthy children for a better tomorrow,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The vice mayor of Gicumbi district in charge of social welfare, Benihirwe Charlotte also reminded parents to be responsible for their children\u2019s education by teaching them moral values. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur country evolves day after day. We can\u2019t reach expected development when the youth are  in risky situations.
