{"id":28577,"date":"2016-09-13T05:17:11","date_gmt":"2016-09-13T05:17:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/president-kagame-urges-youth-to-value-their\/"},"modified":"2016-09-17T15:13:29","modified_gmt":"2016-09-17T15:13:29","slug":"president-kagame-urges-youth-to-value-their","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/president-kagame-urges-youth-to-value-their\/","title":{"rendered":"President Kagame urges youth to value their identity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{President Paul Kagame has told the youth that studying is necessary but should come after mastering their origins. }<\/p>\n<p>President Kagame noted this on Sunday as he presided over the closing of civic education organized for representatives of students from University and Higher Learning Institutions across the country dubbed \u2018Inkomezamihigo\u2019. <\/p>\n<p>He urged them to strive towards building Rwanda, participate in addressing national challenges before joining the competition at the international level. <\/p>\n<p> \u201cEveryone, even a person preparing for a journey has a starting point. The first step begins at home since it is where we stand, where we call our home. You as the youth, go to study starting from wherever, learn to read, learn mathematics, and learn to speak languages and many others. They are essential but they are not basics. Studying these courses is necessary but they don\u2019t come first. ,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>President Kagame told the youth what should be considered as basics and what civic education means in their lives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat comes first is the root, it is where you place nursery to grow up and reach primary. Else, another external factor matching all is education, culture, and what builds your personality,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are basics you started from at your birth acquired from parents, from school education, the way you grew and where you are.
