The Ministry of Health and City of Kigali will therefore relocate the hospital. }<\/p>\n<p>In December 2013, City of Kigali announced that CHUK would be relocated from Nyarugenge to Masaka sector in Kicukiro district.<\/p>\n<p>The director of CHUK, Dr Th\u00e9obald Hategekimana has told IGIHE that the deadline of relocating the hospital remains unknown. <\/p>\n<p>The vice mayor of Kigali city in charge of social welfare , Judith Kazayire  has said that relocating CHUK is not under responsibilities of Kigali  city but rather a duty of the Ministry of Health. <\/p>\n<p>She explained that the only thing Kigali city did was to indicate that the place where CHUK is located doesn\u2019t match the new Kigali city master plan.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, Kayumba Malick yesterday told IGIHE that the project of relocating CHUK is underway. He explained that the study indicated that it is possible to relocate the hospital and remain with making the design of how the new buildings of CHUK will look like. <\/p>\n<p>He said that the design is being executed in collaboration with the government of Rwanda and China.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe deadline of relocating CHUK will be announced very soon. We can\u2019t precisely give the exact time right now since it is a large project. We also plan to relocate Muhima hospital,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>CHUK is one of country\u2019s leading hospitals.
