{"id":28178,"date":"2016-08-30T06:37:14","date_gmt":"2016-08-30T06:37:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/catholic-church-bans-contraception-services\/"},"modified":"2016-09-01T02:00:18","modified_gmt":"2016-09-01T02:00:18","slug":"catholic-church-bans-contraception-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/catholic-church-bans-contraception-services\/","title":{"rendered":"Catholic Church bans contraception services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{The Catholic Church in Rwanda has stopped the provision of some family planning services at all its hospitals and health centers across the country.The banned services include provision of birth control pills, intra uterine device (IUD), injectables, implant and contraceptives such as condoms. }<\/p>\n<p>The Bishop of Butare diocese and spokesperson of Catholic Church in Rwanda, Philippe Rukamba has told IGIHE that the decision was taken after holding discussions with government and reached consensus.<\/p>\n<p>The cause is attributed to people\u2019s complaints that family planning practices are potential health risks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is something that needs caution. Using syringes expose people to a variety of potential negative consequences.
