{"id":28111,"date":"2016-08-28T00:48:34","date_gmt":"2016-08-28T00:48:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/un-decorates-448-rwandan-police-peacekeepers-in\/"},"modified":"2016-08-28T00:48:11","modified_gmt":"2016-08-28T00:48:11","slug":"un-decorates-448-rwandan-police-peacekeepers-in","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/un-decorates-448-rwandan-police-peacekeepers-in\/","title":{"rendered":"UN decorates 448 Rwandan Police peacekeepers in CAR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{The United Nations has decorated 448 Rwandan police peacekeepers serving under the Multidimensional integrated United Nation Mission for Stabilization in Central African Republic (MINUSCA), with service medal in recognition of their outstanding contribution to ensure safety, security and peace in CAR.}<\/p>\n<p>The decorated officers include two Rwanda Formed Police Units (FPUs) and a Protection and Support Unit (PSU) contingents, and Individual Police Officers (IPOs) who act as Police advisors.<\/p>\n<p>The medal award ceremony was held on August 26 in the capital Bangui, and presided over by the Special Representative of United Nations Secretary General in CAR and head of Mission, Parfait Onanga Anyanga.<\/p>\n<p>The occasion was also attended by MINUSCA Police Commissioner Luis Miguel Carrilho, MINUSCA Force Commander Lt. Gen. Balla Keita and the Mayor of Bangui Emile Gros-Raymond Nakombo, among other high ranking officials.<\/p>\n<p>In his speech, the Special Representative thanked the decorated officers for their \u201ccommitment\u201d during their tour of duty.<\/p>\n<p>They commended the work done and urged them to keep the spirit, maintain their professionalism, patriotism and focused for the remainder of their mission mandate<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have no doubt that your discipline, professionalism and patriotism came from your history of resilience comprised of spirit of excellence and hope, which also resulted into excellent leadership back in your country\u201dAnyanga said.<\/p>\n<p>The Police Commissioner Luis Miguel Carrilho noted that the medals depict their good conduct and commitment to their mission.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou stood by the UN core values; respect of diversity, integrity and professionalism,\u201d Carrilho said.<\/p>\n<p>The commander of Police peacekeepers in CAR, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Gilbert R.
