{"id":28074,"date":"2016-08-26T08:30:58","date_gmt":"2016-08-26T08:30:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rwanda-drc-farmers-agree-on-trade-facilitation\/"},"modified":"2016-08-26T08:30:47","modified_gmt":"2016-08-26T08:30:47","slug":"rwanda-drc-farmers-agree-on-trade-facilitation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rwanda-drc-farmers-agree-on-trade-facilitation\/","title":{"rendered":"Rwanda, DRC farmers agree on trade facilitation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{Farmers\u2019 associations from Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo signed cooperation agreements yesterday in Goma town, Western DRC to improve cross-border trade. }<\/p>\n<p>Both parties agreed to partner in the promotion of cross-border trade in agricultural and livestock products.<\/p>\n<p>Christine Murebwayire, representing the association of farmers in Rwanda\u2019s Private Sector Federation explained that they have pledged to share experience in business management and making a joint investment to improve trade.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a great opportunity for Rwanda farmers. DRC has a big market for our produce and livestock products. We hope the agreements will facilitate our business growth,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<p>DRC is among the countries to which Rwanda exports several merchandise. A recent study of the Ministry of Trade and Industry indicated that 26% of goods are illegally exported within the region, two thirds of which are exported to DRC.<\/p>\n<p>The president of the association of farmers in DRC, Pierre Damien Bivegete said that his country has a lot to learn from Rwanda adding that the agreements bring great opportunities especially for DRC farmers to improve productivity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a lot to learn from Rwanda.
