{"id":28057,"date":"2016-08-26T01:56:40","date_gmt":"2016-08-26T01:56:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/mother-and-son-held-for-killing-neighbours-goats\/"},"modified":"2016-08-26T01:56:27","modified_gmt":"2016-08-26T01:56:27","slug":"mother-and-son-held-for-killing-neighbours-goats","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/mother-and-son-held-for-killing-neighbours-goats\/","title":{"rendered":"Mother and son held for killing neighbours&#8217; goats"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{Police in Nyagatare District is holding a woman and her son in connection with killing 33 goats to death.}<\/p>\n<p>The heinous act happened on August 24 in Rwimiyaga Nyagatare District where Ruth Nyiragicali, 57, and her son Frank Murisa, 32, stabbed and killed all the 33 goats belonging to their neighbours, Frank Muzungu and Ernest Mugenyi.<\/p>\n<p>The Eastern Region police spokesperson, Inspector of Police (IP) Emmanuel Kayigi condemned the \u201cbarbaric act.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn August 24, all the 33 goats crossed into Nyiragicali\u2019s farm; with the help of her son, they locked them up in a small house and killed them. Some of the goats were strangled and others stabbed,\u201d IP Kayigi said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is such a cruel   act; we are still investigating the matter but so far we have learnt that Nyiragicali had some misunderstanding with her neighbours. However, under no circumstance is someone allowed to take matters of the law in their own hands.
