{Rwanda Revenue Authority yesterday awarded excellent tax payers during the Taxpayers Day held for the 14th time in Kigali.}<\/p>\n

The awards are categorized in; small , medium and big taxpayers.<\/p>\n

Those who toped excellent taxpayers were classified in another category dubbed \u2018Abahizi\u2019.<\/p>\n

Taxpayers classified as Abahizi include Bralirwa, Rubaya Nyabihu Tea Company Ltd and Alimentation la Gardienne which excelled in delivering EBM invoices.<\/p>\n

Exemplary partners of RRA were also awarded for mobilizing Rwandans on tax payments. These are the military and police.<\/p>\n

The Commissioner for Domestic Taxes at RRA, Mr. Kayigi Habiyambere Aimable shared that three main criteria are considered to award a taxpayer.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe assess whether the person declared taxes and paid on time over the whole year. Then it is followed by checking whether the client was audited,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Kayigi explained that they also evaluate whether taxes were paid properly without under-declarations and undervaluation. <\/p>\n

The category of excellent partners include Rwanda Defense Forces, Rwanda National Police, the governor of Southern Province Alphonse Munyantwali, National Cooperatives Confederation of Rwanda (NCCR) and Rwanda Freight Forwarders Association(RWAFFA).<\/p>\n

Group Caiman Ltd, Simba supermarket, Brioche Ltd and Sonatubes SARL were awarded for excellence in delivering Electronic Billing Machine invoices.<\/p>\n

Excellent taxpayers in provinces are: Mount Meru Soyco(East), Governers Camp Rwanda Ltd (Northern), Centre St Andr\u00e9 (South) and COSERGI (West).<\/p>\n

Awarded small taxpayers are: PRODEV Rwanda Ltd, Energy Resource Petrolium, PEARL Enterprise Ltd, Sandrali SEBAKARA and Carrefour SARL.<\/p>\n

Awarded medium taxpayers are Sosoma Industries, Unipharma SARL, Pyramid Pharma and Prime Energy Ltd.<\/p>\n

MTN Rwanda, Crystal Ventures Ltd, I&M Bank and Cimerwa Ltd were awarded as big taxpayers.<\/p>\n

A total Of Rwf 1001.3 billion were collected in 2015\/2016 surpassing the target of Rwf 960.1 billion.<\/p>\n
