Students from other courses will have their study period reduced to three years from next academic year 2017\/2018,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The head School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Rwanda, Joseph Njuguna said that the reduction of study period is part of integrating education program with other member states of East African community. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cReforming the study period is a policy of the University of Rwanda where some colleges will offer courses within three years as a way of keeping at par with regional universities, \u201d he said.  <\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-14317 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/njuguna.jpg\" alt=\"The head School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Rwanda,Joseph Njuguna \" \/><\/figure>\n<p>He explained that the University of Rwanda is improving the structure in which courses that were offered in four years have to be covered in three years adding that there will be no modifications in course modules.<\/p>\n<p>The school curricula has been revised to comply with three-year study period which Njuguna says will require faster coverage as the university reforms the semester system.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwo semesters of academic year should be extended to three semesters to avoid prolonged holidays.
