{"id":27546,"date":"2016-08-08T06:10:23","date_gmt":"2016-08-08T06:10:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/muslim-youth-pledge-to-combat-extremism\/"},"modified":"2016-08-11T03:18:27","modified_gmt":"2016-08-11T03:18:27","slug":"muslim-youth-pledge-to-combat-extremism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/muslim-youth-pledge-to-combat-extremism\/","title":{"rendered":"Muslim youth pledge to combat extremism"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{A total of 75 Muslim youth from across the country yesterday pledged to fight against extremism and terrorism which is often associated with them.}<\/p>\n<p>The youth who have been undergoing training in countering terrorism and human trafficking organized by Rwanda National Police in collaboration with Rwanda Muslim Community, completed training held for the 4th time. <\/p>\n<p>They pledged to share with others the acquired knowledge to join efforts in fighting against terrorism, extremism and human trafficking.<\/p>\n<p>Nsangira Abdul, a Rwandan student doing Masters in Muslim studies in Saudi Arabia said that they are going to help the youth to act in accordance with the country\u2019s vision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have to teach others the vision of our country and Islam as well helping them to think big since a person with rebel spirit is subjected to losing heaven and better livelihoods,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Nsangira urged fellow youth to participate in development activities other than involvement in extremism.<\/p>\n<p>The leader of Islam in Northern Province, Sheikh Ismail Sehf called on the youth to be bearers of positive transformations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIslamic teachings do not allow rebellion.
