{The Rwanda Youth Volunteers in Community Policing (RYVCP) has gained more 117 members in Musanze District.}<\/p>\n
The youth group focuses its activities in community awareness and fight against crimes through promotion of community safety and realising the human security activities.
\nThe new members, all from Busogo Sector subscribed to RYVCP during a general youth meeting held on August 4.
\nThis brought the number of members in Busogo alone to 129, up from 12 previously.
\nEvery sector in the country has a target of having a membership of at least 200 youth volunteers.<\/p>\n
The coordinator of the youth organization in Musanze, Theodore Murangamirwa, thanked the new members for their \u201cwise decision\u201d which he said will continue to drive the agenda \u201cyouth volunteerism\u201d in the country\u2019s transformation process.<\/p>\n
He urged the members to be exemplary and desist from any unlawful acts, and promote the spirit of teamwork.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs the youth, we should take the lead in promoting and fighting for safety, security, community development and this requires us to be patriotic,\u201d Murangamirwa said.<\/p>\n
Inspector of Police (IP) Viateur Ntiyamira, the District Community Liaison Officer of Musanze, who attended the meeting, urged them to put much emphasis in raising awareness and fighting drug abuse, which is mostly affecting the young generation.
\n\u201cMost crimes in Musanze have a relationship with drug abuse and you find the youth are the majority, and we expect you to work with police and other people to reverse this trend,\u201d IP Ntiyamira said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
