Shafiga Murebwayire, who received the delegation, explained to them on the background of the centre and the services it offers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe idea behind the establishment of this centre was to holistically respond to the incidences of gender based violence and child abuse in an appropriate and effective manner,\u201d Supt. Murebwayire explained.<\/p>\n<p>The centre, which has since been scaled up to other 28 district hospitals across the country offers free medical, psycho-socio, legal and counseling services to the victims of GBV and Child Abuse.<\/p>\n<p>It was established with the support of the First Lady, Jeannette Kagame through Imbuto Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince 2009, when this centre was opened, we have received about 13, 000 cases related to gender based violence and child abuse but at the moment, we receive between 10 and 15 cases on a daily basis,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>At least 80 percent of the cases registered at Isange in Kacyiru are related to GBV.<\/p>\n<p>Isange is managed by Rwanda National Police (RNP) in partnership with the Ministries of Health, Justice and Gender and Family Promotion.<\/p>\n<p>The delegation toured various rooms of the centre that offers various services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have come to learn from Rwanda\u2019s positive experience in handling and addressing challenges women and children face,\u201d said Dangar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe appreciate the way Isange is structured bringing together all players to offer varied services in one place and to support the vulnerable who can\u2019t afford services related to medical and justice; this is an inspiring example that will also help us to improve our services in addressing issues related to gender based violence and child abuse back home,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-13684 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/csm_the_director_general_of_women_and_gender_equity_in_ministry_women__dangar_martine__c__being_briefed_by_supt._shafiga_murebwayire_at_isange_one_stop_centre_03_3b63c05ca7.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>{A delegation from Chad headed by the Director General of Women and Gender Equity in Ministry of Women, Dangar Martine, on July 20, visited Isange One Stop Centre at Kacyiru in what they termed as a \u201clearning tour.\u201d} The director of Isange centres, Supt.
