{"id":26976,"date":"2016-07-17T01:10:53","date_gmt":"2016-07-17T01:10:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/somalia-suspends-school-linked-to-failed-turkish\/"},"modified":"2016-07-17T01:10:32","modified_gmt":"2016-07-17T01:10:32","slug":"somalia-suspends-school-linked-to-failed-turkish","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/somalia-suspends-school-linked-to-failed-turkish\/","title":{"rendered":"Somalia suspends school linked to failed Turkish coup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{New administrative board will be named in cooperation with Turkey to resume the school&#8217;s educational activities}<\/p>\n<p>The Somali government announced Saturday that it is suspending a school linked to the group behind the attempted coup Friday in Turkey, giving its staff one week to leave the country.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the Somali government said Nile Academy, the terrorist FETO\/PDY-linked school in Somalia\u2019s capital Mogadishu, was suspended as requested by Turkish government.<\/p>\n<p>The Somali government also stated that a new administrative board will be designated in cooperation with Turkey to resume the school\u2019s educational activities.<\/p>\n<p>Somalia also joined a chorus of nations worldwide in condemning the failed coup, expressing solidarity with the Turkish government and the Turkish people during their democratic resistance.<\/p>\n<p>Friday night saw military elements make a \u201cvile\u201d attempt to overthrow Turkey\u2019s elected government, according to Prime Minister Binali Yildirim.
