{"id":26943,"date":"2016-07-16T05:39:17","date_gmt":"2016-07-16T05:39:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/governor-bosenibamwe-calls-for-community-teamwork\/"},"modified":"2016-07-18T09:16:45","modified_gmt":"2016-07-18T09:16:45","slug":"governor-bosenibamwe-calls-for-community-teamwork","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/governor-bosenibamwe-calls-for-community-teamwork\/","title":{"rendered":"Governor Bosenibamwe calls for community teamwork against crime"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{The Governor of the Northern Province, Aime Bosenibamwe has urged the residents in the province to work as a team to identify and report anything that can affect their well-being.}<\/p>\n<p>The Governor made the call on July 13 during separate meetings with the residents of Butaro and Rusarabuye sectors in Burera District.<\/p>\n<p>This was shortly after visiting a site in Rupangu Village of Mubuga Cell in Butaro where a medical university is set to be constructed.<\/p>\n<p>He was flanked by the Mayor of Burera, Frolence Uwambajemariya, Brig. Gen Eugene Nkubito and the District Police Commander of Burera, Supt. Dieudonne Rwangombwa.<\/p>\n<p>In his address, Governor Bosenibamwe commended the existing partnership between the public, police and other security organs in promoting safety, but called for stronger cooperation to close gaps wrongdoers use to commit crimes.<\/p>\n<p>He appealed to the residents to be security agents on the ground and provide information to police and other security organs on what they believe affects the safety and security of their communities.<\/p>\n<p>The Governor singled out groups involved in trafficking drugs especially in Burera and other districts at the borderline, as one of the challenges that requires the significant role of the residents to know and arrest such people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome of these people also indulge in other petty crimes like theft and the illicit drugs they traffic into your communities like cannabis and kanyanga \u2013 illicit gin \u2013 have become the source of domestic violence and assault, which you shouldn\u2019t give room,\u201d said the Governor.<\/p>\n<p>He further urged them to utilize the infrastructures like roads and electricity for \u201chealthy and legal businesses\u201d and participate in government development programmes like Umuganda \u2013 monthly community work \u2013 practice family planning and subscribe to the public health insurance scheme &#8211; mutuelle de sant\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnhealthy community is an insecure one and that affects development,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The residents were reminded to support and reinforce community night patrols \u2013 Irondo \u2013 and avoid and give no value to rumors that attempt to destruct them from their development activities.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-13577 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/csm_bosenibamwe-aime-guverineri-wintara-yamajyaruguru_01_25e93e7b70.jpg\" alt=\"Aime Bosenibamwe, Northern Province Governor.\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>{The Governor of the Northern Province, Aime Bosenibamwe has urged the residents in the province to work as a team to identify and report anything that can affect their well-being.} The Governor made the call on July 13 during separate meetings with the residents of Butaro and Rusarabuye sectors in Burera District.
