{"id":26608,"date":"2016-07-04T07:38:36","date_gmt":"2016-07-04T07:38:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rusizi-toxic-cassava-kills-two\/"},"modified":"2016-07-05T01:05:35","modified_gmt":"2016-07-05T01:05:35","slug":"rusizi-toxic-cassava-kills-two","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rusizi-toxic-cassava-kills-two\/","title":{"rendered":"Rusizi: Toxic cassava kills two"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{Two children of Hategekimana Epimaque and Ntashavu Vestine from Nyandarama village, Kagara cell of Gihundwe sector in Rusizi district have died after eating cassava.}<\/p>\n<p>Eight children ate cooked cassava yesterday at the home of a neighbor called Iremaharinde Alphonse and started feeling trouble in their bellies till two of them died this morning.<\/p>\n<p>One of the deceased children, Olive Nyiranzeyimana died around 2:00 am while another Mukabayizere Josiane aged 12 died as she was being taken to Nkanka health center.<\/p>\n<p>The executive secretary of Gihundwe sector, Muganga Emmanuel has told IGIHE that they suspect the death may have been caused by cassava children ate to a neighbor\u2019s home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c Two of eight children who ate cassava at a neighbor\u2019s home have passed away.
