{The Minister of Defense, Gen. James Kabarebe has said that World\u2019s powerful nations continue to interfere in affairs of African countries.

\nHe made the observation mid last week as he talked to 31 senior police officers from 10 African countries at Kacyiru Police headquarters that were attending a course on security.<\/p>\n

Minister Kabarebe said that the interference of foreigners date back to colonial days and there is no hope for it to end in the near future as their actions are driven by the thirst for wealth and seeking prestige, feigning their commitment democracy, political freedom, human rights and media freedom.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey use intelligence representatives sent through Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) including UN and church based NGOs among others. These are means these countries are using and vary depending on the country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Kabarebe pointed out an example of Muammar al-Qaddafi who was accused of dictatorship and ousted, killed which destroyed Libya and has not regained stability up to now. Gen Kabarebe pointed out an example of Ivory Cost of Laurent Gbagbo who attempted to cooperate with China and is now jailed by International Criminal Court based in Netherlands.<\/p>\n

Talking to the presence of Monusco in Africa he said; \u201cUN was sent in Congo .It has not left and it will not leave. Some people think that Monusco presence in Congo is to fight against armed groups like FDLR, ADF and Mai Mai. It is not true. However we have seen these armed groups getting increased power as time evolves.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cWill Monusco restore peace in eastern DRC and leave or it will remain there forever? Is it there for a well planned project or it is there for other reasons related to events of 1960s? It is true that Congo is very rich and its resources have not yet been used more than any country of the World. Will the 19,000 troops of Monusco leave Congo or not? It won\u2019t leave,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Kabarebe said that current problems prompt Africans to lead themselves in activities reflecting slavery like people dying in Mediterranean heading for Europe.
\nHe decried countries like France which continue to lead some African countries, leaving them in economic and political shambles. <\/p>\n
