{"id":26247,"date":"2016-06-21T06:57:19","date_gmt":"2016-06-21T06:57:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/let-s-renovate-schools-together-catholic-church\/"},"modified":"2016-06-24T04:44:57","modified_gmt":"2016-06-24T04:44:57","slug":"let-s-renovate-schools-together-catholic-church","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/let-s-renovate-schools-together-catholic-church\/","title":{"rendered":"Let\u2019s renovate schools together-Catholic Church to parents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{Catholic Church has requested parents\u2019 contribution to renovate its old schools\u2019 buildings across the country, saving children from being susceptible accidents.}<\/p>\n<p>The remark was made by the president of Episcopal Council and the spokesperson of Catholic Church in Rwanda , Bishop Philippe Rukamba on Saturday as he presided over the ceremony closing the Catholic Education Week following parents\u2019  requests for need to renovate old schools lest they collapse and hurt students.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCatholic Church offers quality education and acquaints children with good habits. However, the schools are too old, some classes have clay roof-tiles and others are so dilapidated in a near-collapse situation. The church should put efforts in revamping such schools,\u201d said one parent.<\/p>\n<p>Bishop Philippe Rukamba said that the church is concerned about the sorry state of schools but called for collaboration with parents to address the issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaving old classrooms is a big problem. The government tries and we are doing our best through a mutual contribution dubbed Caisse de Solidalite (Solidarity fund). As such schools are meant for your children, you parents should contribute to the renovations.
