{"id":26092,"date":"2016-06-15T04:05:56","date_gmt":"2016-06-15T04:05:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/more-efforts-needed-to-counter-extremism-fazil\/"},"modified":"2016-06-15T08:57:50","modified_gmt":"2016-06-15T08:57:50","slug":"more-efforts-needed-to-counter-extremism-fazil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/more-efforts-needed-to-counter-extremism-fazil\/","title":{"rendered":"More efforts needed to counter extremism- Fazil"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{The Minister of Internal Security, Musa Fazil Harerimana has assured parliament that the government is doing all that is possible to overcome extremism in close collaboration with the Muslim community. } <\/p>\n<p>The minister gave the assurance as he presented budget estimates for the current financial year during which Honourable MP Constance Mukayuhi, an economist who chairs the Rwandan National Assembly&#8217;s Budget Commission sought an insight into the current situation of extremism and terrorism in Rwanda.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to the question, the minister Fazil said that the matter is being handled.<br \/>\nHe explained that there are gross misunderstandings of fundamentals of Islam by some people who have been brainwashed and misinformed while others that are promised haven end up being trafficked and sold as slaves.  <\/p>\n<p>He also explained that some people decline to present their identity cards to the police saying they had identifications at a time when they were Satan loyalists.
