{"id":26052,"date":"2016-06-14T01:13:12","date_gmt":"2016-06-14T01:13:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/congo-brazzaville-gender-minister-visit-isange\/"},"modified":"2016-06-14T01:13:00","modified_gmt":"2016-06-14T01:13:00","slug":"congo-brazzaville-gender-minister-visit-isange","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/congo-brazzaville-gender-minister-visit-isange\/","title":{"rendered":"Congo Brazzaville Gender Minister visit Isange One Stop Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{The Minister of Gender of Congo Brazzaville, In\u00e8s Nefer Ingani visited the Rwanda National Police (RNP) Isange One Stop Centre in Kacyiru on June 12 and congratulated Rwanda and the force in particular for valuing the impact of women and fighting for their rights.}<\/p>\n<p>Isange, literally meaning \u2018welcome\u2019 responds to the needs of victims of gender based violence and child abuse including legal, medical and psycho-socio services, and offered freely.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Ingani, who was accompanied by her Rwandan counterpart, Dr. Diane Gashumba, was taken through various sections  of the holistic centre and explained on how it functions in partnership with other entities including the ministries of Health, Justice and Gender and Family Promotion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI came here to witness and learn how Rwanda has succeeded in its gender policy. We chose Rwanda because of her reputation in gender equality, and surely that is evident to the world,\u201d Minister Ingani said.<\/p>\n<p>Rwanda\u2019s gender policy, partly, requires that women constitute minimum 30 percent in all public institutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am impressed with the way Isange is set up and functions to support victims of GBV and child abuse\u2026 Rwanda serves as an example to many countries. This system informs us how to effectively deal with the same challenges at home,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Isange has received over 10, 000 cases since its establishment in 2009, most of them related to GBV.
