{President Paul Kagame has requested 41 students preparing to study overseas to always remember Rwanda and African continent in general.}<\/p>\n
The President made the call yesterday in a ceremony of closing courses of more than a year meant to prepare students from Rwanda, Burundi, Liberia, South Sudan and DRC to study in World\u2019s prominent Universities.<\/p>\n
The courses were organized under Bridge2Rwanda, a program of Americans which helps Rwandans and students from other countries to get opportunities of studying in famous universities of the World.<\/p>\n
The students will start studying in the said universities in America, Europe and Asia from July, 2017.<\/p>\n
The universities include Yale, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University, Princeton University, Brown University, Tufts University, Williams University and Pennsylvania among others.<\/p>\n
\u201cWherever you are, whatever you may be doing, you have to always prioritize your thoughts and love for Rwanda and Africa,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Thirty Rwandans are among 41 students set to study abroad through the program next year. President Paul Kagame requested them to work for their countries and Africa and remember that Rwanda is also their home.<\/p>\n
He said that the most important thing in economy and livelihoods is to have knowledge and needed moral values to attain goals while sharing benefits with others.<\/p>\n
He urged them to collaborate for good achievements.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhatever kind of gift we may own, we can\u2019t obtain more achievements alone. But nothing can be impossible for us if we work together,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
President Kagame said that it has been realized that Africans compete and win excellently noting that nothing should decelerate them in case there is good understandings and supporting means.<\/p>\n
Students lauded opportunities to study abroad. For Rwandan delegates it is a good opportunity of demonstrating the culture of their country and bringing transformations after completing courses.<\/p>\n
\u201cObtaining the scholarship is a mercy of God. I expect to learn construction and business and return to contribute to the development of my country, \u201csaid Tuyishimire Olive.<\/p>\n
Fiston Muhire, another beneficiary, said; \u201cGetting the scholarship to study abroad induces pride to me because it is rare. We are going to market our country and our culture, learn from others\u2019 best practices so we can join other Rwandans in building the nation when we return,\u201d said Fiston Muhire.<\/p>\n
This is the fifth edition since Bridge2Rwanda tarted supporting Rwandans to study abroad. <\/p>\n
Students are selected based on their academic scores, outstanding deeds at their schools or outside, vision for oneself and the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
