{"id":25905,"date":"2016-06-07T09:16:03","date_gmt":"2016-06-07T09:16:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/no-country-interested-in-hosting-burundi-refugees\/"},"modified":"2016-06-13T01:04:04","modified_gmt":"2016-06-13T01:04:04","slug":"no-country-interested-in-hosting-burundi-refugees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/no-country-interested-in-hosting-burundi-refugees\/","title":{"rendered":"No country interested in hosting Burundi refugees accommodated in Rwanda -Mushikiwabo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{Rwanda says, no country has so far demonstrated any willingness to receive Burundi refugees hosted in Rwanda and sending back Burundi refugees with no identification from Rwanda should not be understood as a wild act since every country has its own laws to respect.}<\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of March, 2016 Rwanda deported 1500 Burundian that were living inside the country for lack of identities and requested them to come back when they get identification documents. <\/p>\n<p>Responding to the deportation of Burundian during a press conference held last Friday, the Rwanda\u2019s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Louise Mushikiwabo said; \u201cNo country receives people without regulations. If you are a refugee you are a refugee, if you are a neighbor having come to run business inside the country, there are procedures to follow,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn East African Community, we don\u2019t have any problem if citizens come to operate in our country, we accept it, there are processes to follow. ,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p> Mushikiwabo said that no country has demonstrated willingness to accommodate Burundi refugees expected to be relocated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRwanda wished to relocate Burundi refugees to other countries to reduce political disarray; it was discussed, but no country has shown readiness to accommodate them. It requires countries to be involved in relocating Burundi refugees away from neighboring countries which creates political conflicts,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBurundi cases involve a mixed chain of people and countries having other targets.
