This sometimes results into deaths of either the mother or the unborn or newly born child,\u201d said Gasinzigwa Tharcisse, a resident of the area.<\/p>\n<p>Another resident Sibomana Jean Pierre said; \u201cWe buy food in Nyamagabe. A kilogram of irish potatoes costs Rwf 370 yet it costs Rwf 227 in Rusizi . Moreover we live in isolation since we have neither  a road network nor listen to radios.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Residents of the area say that district officials promised them road rehabilitation nine years ago but nothing has come out of the talk. <\/p>\n<p>On a recent visit by MPs in Nyamasheke district last week, they realized how residents cut off from the mainstream communications and promised to support the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are serious matters including electricity shortage, poor roads, incoherent radio networks and lack of internet but we plan to connect the area with electricity in the 2016\/2017 budget.
