{"id":25527,"date":"2016-05-23T21:12:47","date_gmt":"2016-05-23T21:12:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/police-senior-command-students-begin-study-tour\/"},"modified":"2016-05-23T21:11:48","modified_gmt":"2016-05-23T21:11:48","slug":"police-senior-command-students-begin-study-tour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/police-senior-command-students-begin-study-tour\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Senior Command students begin study tour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{Thirty-one senior police students from African countries currently attending the fourth intake of the \u2018Police Senior Command and Staff Course\u2019 at the National Police College (NPC) in Musanze District have started a week-long study tour aimed at linking theories to realities on the ground.}<\/p>\n<p>The officers are from Burundi, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Kenya, Namibia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Rwanda, the host.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the students started their study tour at the Office of the Ombudsman where they were received by its Permanent Secretary, Xavier Mbarubukeye, who briefed them on the operations of the Office of Ombudsman in the fight against corruption in Rwanda.<\/p>\n<p>They later visited National Itorero Commission where they were received and briefed by its chairman, Bonifance Rucagu.<\/p>\n<p>The study tour is part of the one year course that covers both academic and professional aspects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe highest police course aims at imparting to participants knowledge and skills in relation to Strategic Command and professional policing, Executive Leadership as well as Strategic Management,\u201d Commissioner of Police (CP) Felix Namuhoranye, the commandant of NPC, said.<\/p>\n<p>The course also offers a Masters degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Transformation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter students are equipped with theoretical knowledge, they go out to make a comparative analysis of the practices on the ground.
