The festival will include the screening of \u201cOne Life One Story\u201d short films and \u201cSierra Leone\u2019s Refugee All Stars\u201d as well as a panel discussion on pertinent refugee issues today.<\/p>\n
UNHCR and MIDIMAR will deliver an opening address, to be followed by the screening of the short films \u201cOne Life One Story\u201d. <\/p>\n
In this series shot on the borders of conflict zones around the Great Lakes region, refugees and internally displaced people talk about being forced from their homes and how that experience has shaped their lives. <\/p>\n
The short films will be followed by the musical documentary \u201cSierra Leone\u2019s Refugee All Stars\u201d, which tells the remarkable story of a group of six Sierra Leonean musicians who formed a band while living as refugees in the Republic of Guinea. <\/p>\n
To conclude the first evening, a panel discussion on the issues highlighted in the films will be held. <\/p>\n
The panel will consist of the UNHCR Representative, Ms Neimah WARSAME, the returnee, Hope AZEDA of Mashirika theatre group, the former Mufti of Rwanda, Sheikh Saleh HABIMANA (Rwanda Governance Board), and the journalist and former Rwandan refugee in Zambia, Geraldine MUKAKABEGO.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
