{"id":25070,"date":"2016-05-03T06:04:05","date_gmt":"2016-05-03T06:04:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rwanda-tanzania-cooperation-takes-an-encouraging\/"},"modified":"2016-05-14T06:19:52","modified_gmt":"2016-05-14T06:19:52","slug":"rwanda-tanzania-cooperation-takes-an-encouraging","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rwanda-tanzania-cooperation-takes-an-encouraging\/","title":{"rendered":"Rwanda-Tanzania cooperation takes an encouraging shape"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{Rwanda and Tanzania have resumed talks aimed at improving cooperation between the two countries in various government institutions after a five-year hiatus.The previous 13th retreat was held in 2011 and was followed by the 14th which was held on Saturday on April 30th, 2016 in Rubavu district.}<\/p>\n<p>The retreat brought together delegates from the ministry of foreign affairs of both countries assessing the implementation of 13th retreat resolutions.<\/p>\n<p>The permanent secretary in the Rwandan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Jeanine Kambanda said that the retreat assessed the success  in the implementation of 13th retreat. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have analyzed together the implementation of the 13th retreat and areas of improvements. We have also assessed various themes including border trade, infrastructures, education, security, tourism, sports, agriculture and governance,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>She said that the retreat added another resolution of improving health care between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>The secretary in Tanzania\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Ramadhan Muombwa Mwinyi said that much as some delays have been observed,  the most important is the will of moving fast towards the good cooperation between both countries.<\/p>\n<p>It is expected that outcomes of the retreat will be transferred to the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Tanzania and Rwanda for approval. <\/p>\n<p>The cooperation between Rwanda and Tanzania met an impasse during the leadership of Jakaya Kikwete but  was resumed after president John Pombe Magufuli took power.<\/p>\n<p>As a way of strengthening good relations between Rwanda and Tanzania, president Magufuli  in April visited Rwanda where he joined President Paul Kagame to open Rusumo One Stop Border Post and joined Rwandans at the official opening of the 22nd commemoration of genocide perpetrated against Tutsi in 1994.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-12076 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/tanza_1.jpg\" alt=\"The permanent secretary in the Rwandan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amb.
