More than 1000 victims are buried in Mutete memorial. <\/p>\n<p>During the launch of activities to mark  the 22nd commemoration,   the president of Ibuka in Gicumbi district, Nyirarukundo Emertha has warned insisted that the  memorial site is on risk since water seeps  in whenever it rains.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWater drips through walls and windows and enters inside the memorial,\u201d she said.<br \/>\nRepresentatives of survivors in Mutete sector wish the memorial would be covered conveniently so that rain water won\u2019t flow in again.<\/p>\n<p> Talking to the media, survivors have lauded attained achievements including access education.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have completed my studies with the support of FARG, a fund supporting genocide survicors established by the government,\u201dsaid Jerome Segikwiye.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI appreciate the government for support which enabled us to study without hindrances of lacking school fees which would be realized before the fund (FARG) was launched\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Honorable Gatabazi Jean Marie Vianney told participants in the commemoration held yesterday in Mutete sector that people who still deny genocide are wasting their time since its atrocities were seen by the whole world with explicit  evidence. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-11507 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/urwibuts.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>{As Rwanda marks the 22nd commemoration of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi, Gicumbi survivors have called upon concerned parties to look into renovating Mutete Genocide Memorial to avoid dampness and soaking with rainwater, likely to destroy preserved remains rested there.} Mutete memorial is one among six genocide memorials of Gicumbi district.
