{"id":24436,"date":"2016-04-07T09:53:41","date_gmt":"2016-04-07T09:53:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/university-of-rwanda-students-tipped-on-trauma\/"},"modified":"2016-04-07T10:12:53","modified_gmt":"2016-04-07T10:12:53","slug":"university-of-rwanda-students-tipped-on-trauma","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/university-of-rwanda-students-tipped-on-trauma\/","title":{"rendered":"University of Rwanda students tipped on trauma handling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{As  starts the 22nd commemoration of genocide perpetrated against Tutsi, university students and Rwandans in general are requested to consolidate genocide survivors.}<\/p>\n<p>The call was made yesterday as students ay University of Rwanda,  Huye campus were getting training on how to help a person affected with trauma. <\/p>\n<p>These trainings held every year are organized by Talk Recovery Training Rwanda UBU (TRT- Rwanda UBU) Ltd which has mandate of teaching citizens on stress regulation,  tackling trauma, healthy habits of coping and building hope.<\/p>\n<p>The co-founder and director  of TRT- Rwanda UBU, Jean Pierre Nadagijimana who led the training  said that it takes a long process for a person  affected by trauma to heal. He said that the training was meant to acquaint students with skills of helping individuals to handle trauma cases.<\/p>\n<p>Ndagijimana explained that having such skills would help Rwandans especially during the period of commemorating genocide perpetrated against Tutsi.<\/p>\n<p>Students who benefited from the training said that they have acquired helpful skills to support  trauma affected individuals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have learnt  many things with regard to  helping a traumatized person during commemoration period. I now have skills of approaching him\/her for counseling ,\u201d said Nicole Iraguha.<\/p>\n<p>The training was held at University of Rwanda for the 3rd time.
