{"id":2430,"date":"2012-05-29T16:21:06","date_gmt":"2012-05-29T16:21:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rwanda-concert-to-rock-kampala-city\/"},"modified":"2012-05-29T16:27:56","modified_gmt":"2012-05-29T16:27:56","slug":"rwanda-concert-to-rock-kampala-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rwanda-concert-to-rock-kampala-city\/","title":{"rendered":"Banyarwanda Day Concert to Rock Kampala City"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{{Rwanda popular artistes will join other East African artists in Kampala in a July 6, concert \u2018Banyarwanda Day\u2019, IGIHE reports.}}<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the biggest Banyarwanda event ever held in Uganda and \u201cwill bring together Banyarwanda community in Uganda and neighboring countries\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>Rwandan artist Kayiganwa Julienne aka BIG MAMA will perform alongside other artists who are the cr\u00e8me-de-la-cr\u00e8me in the East African region including; Uganda\u2019s Jose Chameleon, Natacha from Belgium, Intore Masamba, Knowless, Dr. Claude, and Patrick Buta Sly among others all from Rwanda.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting about the significance of Banyarwanda Day in Uganda, Matsiko Isaac handling Public Relations at Great Promotions, the co-organizer of the event told IGIHE, \u201cWe realized there was a big gap in uniting Banyarwanda from all walks of life through music and especially cultural music.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBIG MAMA launched her first album last year in October in Rwanda, so, it\u2019s against that background that we approached her to consider performing in Uganda for the Banyarwanda community\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Matsiko emphasized it\u2019s not a concert that concerns Rwandese alone. \u201cIt\u2019s not Rwanda Day but Banyarwanda Day, meaning that anyone who considers himself a Munyarwanda whether by citizenship or by blood is welcome to the concert.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, \u201cfriends and well-wishers are also welcome to have fun with us,\u201d Matsiko added.
