{"id":24213,"date":"2016-03-29T01:24:55","date_gmt":"2016-03-29T01:24:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rusizi-girls-link-poverty-to-premature\/"},"modified":"2016-03-30T12:34:28","modified_gmt":"2016-03-30T12:34:28","slug":"rusizi-girls-link-poverty-to-premature","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rusizi-girls-link-poverty-to-premature\/","title":{"rendered":"Rusizi girls link poverty to premature pregnancies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{Young girls studying at various schools in Bugarama sector of Rusizi district in Western Province attribute premature pregnancies to poverty where parents fail to satisfy their needs.}<\/p>\n<p>Students revealed this last Saturday to parliamentarians that were touring various schools, talking to students about reproductive health. <\/p>\n<p>They said that parents\u2019 failure to meet their needs prompts them to seek support from men which involves consenting to sex demands.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSometime premature pregnancies result from failing to get needs from parents, hence seeking men\u2019s support who as well demand for sex and eventual premature pregnancies,\u201d said Iradukunda Safiati, one of the students.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPremature pregnancies happen most of the time among senior six girls. They have needs that they need to meet. We should develop a culture of getting satisfied with what we have,\u201d advised another student, Zahara Manishimwe.<\/p>\n<p>MP Muhongayire Christine requested girls to recognize that they are responsible for their life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone is responsible for planning for her life destiny. You will get infected with HIV\/AIDS if you are not cautious with the way you handle your life.
