{The Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Johnson Busingye has implored ministries\u2019 and other government institutions\u2019 legal representatives and advisors to adhere to the norms of creating legally upright environments and desist from neglecting their duties which affect performance. } <\/p>\n
Busingye made the appeal last week during a discussion with legal assistants of government institutions seeking ways of strengthening their performance. He said that being hesitant from giving legal advice to their bosses has serious consequences including signing non-scrutinized contracts likely to bring the government before courts, releasing government\u2019s money for unclear reasons, unfair recruitment and illegal dismissal of employees among other malpractices which would not happen if a legal representative had been consulted. <\/p>\n
He commended lawyers who defend and advise managers against deliberate breaking of the law. Some lawyers, he said, fear to stand their ground and give proper legal advice for fear of earning wrath from their bosses. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
