{"id":23694,"date":"2016-03-05T09:02:58","date_gmt":"2016-03-05T09:02:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/congolese-students-learn-from-rwanda-s-green\/"},"modified":"2016-03-05T09:00:19","modified_gmt":"2016-03-05T09:00:19","slug":"congolese-students-learn-from-rwanda-s-green","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/congolese-students-learn-from-rwanda-s-green\/","title":{"rendered":"Congolese students learn from Rwanda\u2019s green construction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{Twenty construction and structural design students from Democratic Republic of Congo are visiting Rwanda on a study tour to learn from Rwanda\u2019s experience of designing and constructing environmental friendly structures. } <\/p>\n<p>The students who have been training for three days at Protestant Institute of Arts and Social Sciences (PIASS), Huye, were facilitated by experts in construction including Robert Muller from Germany and a Rwandan Eng Alphonse Kalisa Setako.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Muller leads \u2018Brot fur die welt\u2019, a German corporation which provides support in construction-related activities to various African countries. He said that they have preferred to bring Congolese in Rwanda as a country which has attained commendable steps in environment friendly construction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have provided support to construct some of PIASS buildings including classrooms, library and students\u2019 accommodation. They had a good structural design which inspired us to bring Congolese so that they can emulate the practices of green building,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the students from DRC told IGIHE that they have appreciated the way they shared experiences with Rwandans and commended good organization of development and construction activities in Rwanda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have acquired knowledge by sharing with peers in Rwanda.
