{"id":23551,"date":"2016-02-28T02:30:50","date_gmt":"2016-02-28T02:30:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/pentagon-considers-sending-top-military-advisers\/"},"modified":"2016-02-28T02:30:41","modified_gmt":"2016-02-28T02:30:41","slug":"pentagon-considers-sending-top-military-advisers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/pentagon-considers-sending-top-military-advisers\/","title":{"rendered":"Pentagon considers sending top military advisers to Nigeria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{The Pentagon is considering sending military advisers to Nigeria to train troops to fight Boko Haram insurgents and boost security, a United States official has said.}<\/p>\n<p>The defence official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the US military made a string of recommendations after Nigeria\u2019s leaders asked for help determining possible courses of action in the fight against the Islamist militants.<\/p>\n<p>One recommendation was to send a group of advisers \u2014 most likely special operations troops \u2014 to Nigeria to train local forces.
