We can\u2019t wait for a taxi in there so we catch taxis from elsewhere,\u201d said one resident.<\/p>\n<p>Residents requested leaders to connect  the park to the national electricity grid.<br \/>\nZikama Eric, the acting mayor of Kirehe district said that the matter is going to be handled as soon as they get enough capacity to finance the project. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had installed ordinary lamps used for streets lighting which we realized to be very expensive the district could not afford the periodic bills,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He however added that they have talked to REG office in Kirehe district who required them to design a project of how to connect to street light energy system.<\/p>\n<p>Nyakarambi taxi park is among the best in Eastern Province, only shadowed by lack of electricity.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-10592 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/untitled-34.jpg\" alt=\"Nyakarambi Taxi Park \" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>{Passengers and drivers using the Nyakarambi taxi park in Kirehe district have expressed concern over the power disconnection effected recently, saying the darkness might breed theft and other immoral acts. } The taxi park handles a number of passengers including those en-route to Tanzania.
