{Parents and church leaders in Musanze district have been urged to take good care of their children\u2019s education and create harmony in homes to avoid conflicts which sometimes force children to flee homes for streets, a situation that is increasing in Musanze town. } <\/p>\n

Talking to IGIHE, Uwumuremyi Emilienne, the officer in charge of youth, sports and culture in Musanze district attributed the increase of street children to the expansion of Musanze town where it accommodates a large number of migrants and former prostitutes who left their children on streets. <\/p>\n

She requested families, churches and parents to collaborate for proper upbringing of children and counter conflicts in their families.<\/p>\n

Talking to IGIHE, some of children accommodated in Kinigi Rehabilitation Center located in Musanze district decried poor conditions of street life and called on the youth to avoid similar misconduct which lead them to street life.<\/p>\n

\u201cI disrespected parents\u2019 advice and became a sexual worker. I apologize for what I did,\u201d said Mukeshimana one of the juveniles at the center.<\/p>\n

Uzabakiriho said that he had learnt a lesson from the rehabilitation center and understood how to be determined for a bright vision.<\/p>\n

Some of rehabilitated children come from neighboring districts arguing that they have no families while others say they decided to lead street life escaping parents\u2019 disputes.<\/p>\n

The matter of increasing street children is realized in locations known as \u2018t\u00eate \u00e0 gauche\u2019 and \u2018Mudjomba\u2019 station near the food market among other places.<\/p>\n
