{"id":23076,"date":"2016-02-09T00:07:33","date_gmt":"2016-02-09T00:07:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/muhanga-cyclists-urged-to-respect-traffic-rules\/"},"modified":"2016-02-09T00:06:12","modified_gmt":"2016-02-09T00:06:12","slug":"muhanga-cyclists-urged-to-respect-traffic-rules","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/muhanga-cyclists-urged-to-respect-traffic-rules\/","title":{"rendered":"Muhanga: Cyclists urged to respect traffic rules"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{Police in Muhanga District held a meeting with over 400 commercial cyclists operating in Muhanga town, on February 4, and urged them to abide by traffic rules as means of avoiding reckless accidents.}<\/p>\n<p>Inspector of Police (IP) Claver Kayihura, the District Community Liaison Officer, while meeting the cyclists recently, noted that some of them ride recklessly without minding traffic rules, causing accidents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is in your interest to abide by traffic rule; any time you violate them, you are putting your life, passengers and other road users at risk,\u201d IP Kayihura said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou are entitled to similar road safety measures like other road users, so you should not assume that road signs do not apply to you. You, therefore, have the responsibility of protecting the lives of your passengers and those of all road users.
