Kisumu West MP Olago Aluoch on Friday evening said the recommendations by the Judicial Service Special Committee had confirmed confidence crises within the Judiciary.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe judges must all resign, the outcome of the yet to be formed tribunal notwithstanding.<\/p>\n
The decision of the JSC committee on Tunoi is a serious indictment on the entire bench of the Supreme Court, not just Tunoi alone. It\u2019s a blow that has fatally wounded the court,\u201d he told Nation.co.ke<\/p>\n
The Judicial Service Commission on Friday afternoon recommended that President Uhuru Kenyatta forms a tribunal to investigate Justice Tunoi.<\/p>\n
Chief Justice Willy Mutunga said JSC received and adopted a report by the special committee appointed to investigate bribery allegations against Justice Tunoi.<\/p>\n
He said the commission was satisfied that there was \u201cinappropriate interaction and communication\u201d between Justice Tunoi and an agent of a litigant in a matter that was pending before the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis in the opinion of the Commission amounts to gross misconduct and misbehaviour, sufficient to warrant the establishment of a tribunal to further investigate the matter,\u201d said the CJ.<\/p>\n
