{"id":22874,"date":"2016-01-31T01:09:36","date_gmt":"2016-01-31T01:09:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/human-rights-watch-biased-on-rwanda-nkongoli\/"},"modified":"2016-02-01T08:25:09","modified_gmt":"2016-02-01T08:25:09","slug":"human-rights-watch-biased-on-rwanda-nkongoli","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/human-rights-watch-biased-on-rwanda-nkongoli\/","title":{"rendered":"Human Rights Watch biased on Rwanda\u2014Nkongoli"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{Laurent Nkongoli, the head of Human Rights Commission in Rwanda has criticized the recent publication of Human Rights Watch (HRW) report on the performance of human rights in Rwanda.}<\/p>\n<p>The report released recently from a survey conducted in 90 countries, indicates that freedom of expression and political movements are threatened in Rwanda.<\/p>\n<p>He criticized the report saying it is biased and should be ignored. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHuman Rights Watch is biased. It concentrates on what it calls wrong things and goes away from giving explanations to good deeds. Indeed they immediately publish findings without consulting concerned stakeholders,\u201d he said in an exclusive interview with IGIHE.<\/p>\n<p>The report released by HRW indicates that FPR political party dominates in parliament. Nkongoli said that around the World, a political party in power holds more seats in the parliament.<\/p>\n<p>He decried the report\u2019s findings where HRW indicated that political parties in Rwanda have no freedom yet facts on the ground show that they operate freely.<br \/>\nNkongoli says that freedom of expression exists as long as someone does not break the law or infringe on other people\u2019s rights.  <\/p>\n<p>The report also hints on the closure of BBC Kinyarwanda and Kirundi versions in Rwanda which it says has denied Rwandans access to unbiased information.
